A prestigious private club in Shanghai that belongs to an international luxury group is seeking an experienced and driven Membership Manager to lead and expand its exclusive membership base.
This role is primarily focused on sales and acquiring high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) who can meet the club’s high standards and membership requirements. The ideal candidate will have a robust database of potential members and a proven track record in luxury sales, with experience managing relationships with high-profile clients. This position will oversee a team of four, including two existing staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to attract and convert high-net-worth individuals into club members.
Utilize personal and professional networks to build a database of potential members.
Engage with potential members to understand their needs and present the club’s value proposition effectively.
Work closely with the Head of Operations to align membership goals with the club’s overall objectives.
Manage and mentor the membership team, ensuring targets are met and high standards are maintained.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns for membership acquisition.
Maintain confidentiality of member information and club operations.
Organize exclusive events and initiatives to attract potential members and engage current members.
Provide exceptional customer service to existing and potential members, ensuring a personalized and high-quality experience.
Regularly report on membership activities, progress, and financial performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sales, particularly in luxury goods, services, or high-end memberships.
Strong network of high-net-worth individuals and the ability to leverage this network for membership growth.
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to understand and cater to the needs of high-net-worth individuals.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Background:
Experience as a VIC (Very Important Client) Manager in the luxury sector is highly desirable.
Prior experience in a private club or exclusive membership organization is an advantage.
Strong understanding of the luxury market and trends.
